For a new series of products I was asked to create a total of 234 small illustrations which resemble emoticons or patches. The series by Coppenrath Verlag, later named “Funny Patches”, is targeted at preschoolers, first-graders and elementary school children. The colour palette and most of the motifs were chosen by the publisher.
Divided in two batches, the first 97 illustrations from 2018 were used in a couple of books. Among them were a diary, a friend book, keychains and two school-cone shaped books for first-graders. Later on a game of concentration and a couple of invitation cards were added to the series.
In 2019 I was asked to illustrate a second batch of 137 illustrations, which was mainly used in an educational card game where preschoolers or first-graders can learn the alphabet in a playful way. Other than that there was another series of football related products, which were supported by some of my “Patch” illustrations.
