US Election:
Biden vs Trump

ARTDIRECTION: KATRIN SCHUBER

One of the major topics of 2020 (next to Covid-19) was the presidential election in the United States of America. As part of the accompanying news campaign of Der Tagesspiegel, I was asked to illustrate portraits of the presidential candidates, Joe Biden and Donald Trump. Building up on these portraits, I also illustrated two explanatory articles a for the newspaper.
flx The portraits of Biden and Trump were widely used in the US election news campaign by Der Tagesspiegel. As part of the look and feel of the articles, they could be found in most (interactive) infographics and maps, online and in print, but also on Social Media during the election night.
flx The two explanatory articles are about how the US election works and what impact Covid-19 has on the process. The first article guides through the process of the US election in general, as it is quite different to the one in Germany. The second article answers 20 of the most important questions regarding the US election this year, what the dates are and what is special about the 2020 election.
