Black and White Thinking

In a lot of discussions and debates, the dicourse seems to have become more and more polarized. Only two opinions seem to be allowed, you are either for something or against it – black and white.
To visualize the topic of black and white thinking, i was asked by the Kulturaustausch Magazin to create five black-and-white illustrations. To show the different aspects of these polarized discussions, I chose an orchstra as a visual metaphor – a group of different people with different instruments and tones, who are supposed to play in union, but who are divided by something in this case. The five illustrations have five specific topics:
Being divided, being excluded, being heard, being powerless, being privileged.

Together with these five illustrations, I was interviewed by Atifa Qazi about this illustration project, my work, my ethics and how illustrations can change the dicourse. Check it out!
